About
Scarf with the painting by Kateryna Bilokur, “Bouquet of Flowers,” 1959
The scarf was created in collaboration with the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art.
Bouquets, lush and asymmetric, were a common element in decorative art and architecture.
Such bouquets also appear in Kateryna Bilokur's paintings. She gathered them from her favorite flowers — poppies, irises, sunflowers, lilies, field flowers, and grasses.
In the painting “Flowers,” besides the lush and colorful bouquet, a bird also appears. Birds rarely appear in the master's paintings, making the artworks come to life. This is no longer just a still life, but a moment of life from a summer garden.
