Guculiya

Guculiya is a Ukrainian designer brand that reimagines centuries-old black-smoked pottery and artistic textiles as contemporary decor. Inspired by the ancestral traditions of Havarechchyna in Galicia, the brand was founded by Lviv-based designer Danuta Kril. Guculiya honors deep ethnic roots by seamlessly merging functional everyday objects with a modern, minimalist aesthetic.

Core Philosophy & Craft

The Art of Smoke: Their signature black-smoked ceramics are crafted without glaze. Instead, a traditional reduction firing technique (smoking) allows fire and carbon to reveal natural, deep metallic and silver hues within the clay itself.

Beyond Decor: Designed for daily rituals, these pieces function as striking art objects and highly functional serving ware.

Authentic Collaborations: The brand works closely with traditional artisans, such as master potter Mykola Bida, and textile artist Olesya Kovtyk, to incorporate ancient symbols like the "Tree of Life" into contemporary home textiles.
