Traditional square scarf crafted from natural Italian silk, featuring a unique print based on the 11th-century mosaics from the renowned monumental art ensemble of Saint Sophia Cathedral. We have captured the image of the Oranta — the radiant patroness of Kyiv, who has stood in defense of Ukraine and its people for nearly a thousand years.

As in the massive six-meter mosaic, the Oranta appears with her hands raised in a gesture of powerful intercessory prayer for her people and their shared struggle for truth and goodness. The combination of white and gold in her attire is a metaphor for purity and imperishability, while the purple-and-gold maphorion (mantle), red boots, and numerous star-crosses are attributes of supreme power. The colorful ornaments framing the scarf are inspired by the columns surrounding the Oranta’s image in Saint Sophia; they symbolize the Tree of Life, as infinite as the weaving itself.
